Stainless Steel Parallel Wire for the Oil & Gas Industry
Micro-Tek Corporation was recently contracted by a customer in the oil and gas industry to manufacture a very durable side-by-side stainless steel wire. Because of the harsh environment where it is to be used, the finished wire needs to be high strength with corrosion and heat resistant characteristics.
To meet these specifications, each strand was composed of #20 AWG stainless steel and is insulated with DuPont PFA. The pair is then jacketed side by side with FEP for added protection and the finished size is .082" X .136". Measurement and spark testing confirmed the custom wire’s integrity, and verified that we met the customer’s specifications. At Micro-Tek, we take quality seriously and also offer resistance testing, laser testing, spot checking and custom options on blanket orders.
This project represents 10,000 feet of custom manufactured side-by-side stainless steel wire with a delivery of just four weeks. This product is now in use globally by the oil and gas industry.
